Facilities at Information Service Academy

Hostel

During the training, probationers are preferably required to stay in the hostel arranged by the academy. Stay outside the hostel can be permitted on written request of the concerned officer. Change of room in the hostel and permission to stay out after 11:00 p.m. will be granted by the Director General, or the authorized officer. Visitors and guests are not allowed to stay in the hostel. Day-to-day affairs of the hostel are looked after by the coordinator of mess committee (PMC) in consultation with the faculty member, deputed to supervise affairs of the hostel.

Library

The ISA maintains a library having good collection of printed material on almost all related subjects and is being regularly upgraded with new collections. Important magazines and newspapers are also available. Books are issued for a period of one month that can be renewed for another period of 15 days. In case of late return, a fine of Rs.10 per day per book will be charged. In case of loss / damage of book, the borrower will pay full market price of the book at current rate. Training completion certificates will not be issued to the probationers until they submit clearance certificate form Library.

Computer Lab

The computer lab of ISA is equipped with the latest computers and internet facility. It is capable of accommodating all participants in one session. These computers are interlinked through LAN to share printer, scanner and internet connection. As a result, every officer in use of one computer can have access even to remote peripherals.

Auditorium and Lecture Rooms

The well-furnished and electronically equipped auditorium of ISA has the capacity of 150 seats. The auditorium is used for seminars, workshops as well as for other official functions. The Academy’s main lecture room is equipped with overhead and multi-media projectors, flip chart stand and other necessary paraphernalia required in the classroom.

Transport

Pick and drop service is available for the probationary officers from academy campus to the hostel as well as for official visits. Use of official transport, for purposes other than pick and drop, can be permitted under the relevant rules as per availability of transport.

Medical Treatment

The probationary officers are entitled to have free medical treatment at the Federal Government Services Hospital (Polyclinic) and the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. Letter of entitlement can be obtained from the Administration Branch.

Sports Facility

Probationary officers residing in ISA hostel are provided with sports facilities like badminton, table tennis and carom board.
